Newt Scamander's been gone for a while. He left Tina Goldstein with a promise to deliver his book in person, and she misses him greatly. Then Tina receives word that there's a new book on the market - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Newt is coming back. But when he returns, he brings news that his old friend Leta Lestrange is going to be visiting. Soon, Tina learns that she must make a decision about her love for Newt.
