Keith was lonely. He didn't know how to handle depression without downing more than the prescribed amount of anti-depressants he was supposed to take. Then Lance joins some of Keith's classes in art and design. He takes interest in the secluded and shutout boy. Lance doesn't help his situation by trying break down Keith's walls. Keith just wanted to be alone. He's been content with being alone since 8th grade. Having Lance here to try and become his friend wasn't how he planned being in college. He just wished Lance would let him be.

Nico has has a pretty hard life. His father hated him and he's been blamed for the death of his mother and sister. What will happen when a nosy, annoying blonde moves in next to Nico? Their faces forever burned in his mind. Just as burned as the old country house he used to live in. His parents. The smoke. The Smoke. The Fire. That Damn Fire. The roof of their old farmhouse collapsing, closing off the exit. Their faces, burning, melting in the flames. He would never forget the image of their skin slowly melting off their faces. Horror in their eyes. There was one thing that Keith didn't understand. He never saw his parents when they died. All of it was in his head.
