The Heritage spielt 7 Jahre nach den Ereignissen des Originalspiels Final Fantasy VII. Die Geschichte bietet völlig neue Charaktere, die auf einem nun veränderten Planeten neuen Herausforderungen gegenüberstehen. Der Planet hat sich verändert und wird um neue und veränderte Orte, bekannte und neue Geschichten erweitert. Ereignisse aus dem Spiel spielen natürlich eine Rolle, jedoch soll die Geschichte auch Nichtspielern zugänglich sein. Alle nachträglich erschienenen Spin-Offs, Geschichten und andere Fanfictions werden dabei nicht berücksichtigt. Die originale Geschichte von Alien 3 hat mich nicht mehr losgelassen. Viele Fragen sind aber aufgetaucht, die ich mir nicht beantworten konnte: Gab es wirklich nur eine Überlebende nach dem Absturz der Sulaco auf Fiorina 161, dem Gefängnisplaneten der höchsten Sicherheitsstufe?Warum lässt sich Ellen Ripley so schnell auf eine Beziehung zu Dr. Clemens ein, obwohl ihr Liebster soeben mit verunglückt ist und sie ihn doch nur belügt? Wie konnte einer der Gefangenen zum Priester werden und die anderen führen? Steckt da vielleicht noch mehr dahinter, was in eine ferne Vergangenheit führt? Wusste Weyland-Yutani trotz aller Überwachung doch nicht alles? Und war vielleicht doch alles ganz anders.....
