Danielle "Dani" Flamewinter is a dragon rider. Her race is made up of Elvish, men, and fire elemental blood, with special abilities given to them by the gods. Their abilities consist of being able to see like dragons, speak with dragons through thoughts, control minds, read minds, and dragon hearing. One day Dani is asked by Thorin Oakenshield to join his quest, she is hesitant at first but agrees. As they journey through Middle-earth, Dani's life starts to change in ways she never thought it could.
