High in the mountains of Norway, Lieutenant Eve "Chance" Masters races a team led by a rival German agent to be the first to reach an isolated temple to the Norse god Odin. The relic held within, a powerful weapon not meant for the hands of mortals, could turn the tide of the war for whichever side claims it. The fate of Europe and the world at large depends on Chance's ability to overcome the odds and defeat a foe that has escaped her grasp on multiple occasions in the past. With the Special Courier Service crippled by a brazen attack on their headquarters in Paris, it falls to her to lead the handful of remaining Couriers in a desperate bid to ensure that the Eye does win the war for the Germans.

Lieutenant Eve "Chance" Masters is tasked with locating a network of bootleggers in the spider web of Catacombs and tunnels beneath Paris. Several couriers have already failed to return from the ossified speakeasy. In those dark, claustrophobic tunnels, Chance finds herself lost and hunted by a horror beyond her imagination. The only person with knowledge of the dangerous bootlegging network, she must use what little supplies she can scavenge and a deep well of ingenuity to fight her way back to the surface.

The Special Courier Service is a clandestine counter-partisan unit tasked with rooting out enemy agents and dealing with supernatural cases that others cannot, or will not handle themselves. Chance expects to deal only with the violent Apache gangs of Paris, but her mission goes on a startling tangent when she unearths clues pointing to the whereabouts of a forgotten, long-lost national relic. However, with no extant records or witnesses, she turns to her last resort: talking with the dead.
