If you were to ask anyone to describe Rosamie Reyes in one word, it would be "successful". She's a sure candidate for valedictorian, her parents have great careers, and colleges are practically begging for her attendance. So no one understands why she's just gotten engaged to Ezra Carter, a high school dropout whose future is bleak and his mother's- -diagnosed with Alzheimer's two years ago- -even bleaker. With opposition from outsiders and their own families, Rosa must find a way to balance her own life and Ezra's downward spiral as she attempts to keep their lives together in the face of impossible odds.

To the world he was a beast but for her he would do anything. He could have the world but all he wanted was her. They say the things we want most are the things we can't have. For she was so afraid of him that even the thought of him could have her running for the hills. Little did she know that she was the only one who didn't have to be afraid of him.
