Takes place during the Gem War. The Crystal Gems' rebellion against Homeworld is in full swing, and things are looking up for the future. However, Pearl still feels as though she is worthless and Rose takes it upon herself to help Pearl realize how much she matters.

Set around fourteen years in the past, where twenty years after Rose Quartz and Greg Universe found love with each other, are married and soon to-be parents. Pearl has come to accept this, and all though the gems believed she got over her little crush on Rose, she never did. In fact her puppy love of a crush turned into real love. Pearl knows that Rose will no longer be with them soon, as she is giving up her physical form to have her and Greg's son. So, she can't help but tell Rose what she has really been feeling all this time. So she thinks it's best do it now before Rose gives up herself for Steven.

Steven and The Crystal Gems have defeated their new enemies from homeworld after escaping capture. While everything is returning to normal, Steven stumbles upon a crashed escape pod, containing a human girl in a homeworld uniform.
