Ptolemus Pierce was the youngest son of a family legacy, both his mother and father bringing pride to their District as Victors of the Hunger Games. It was only a matter of time before he would be expected to follow in their footsteps, and when the Sixty-Ninth Hunger Games came around, that would be his chance. However, the glory of being crowned Victor did not outweigh the gore and grief like his family promised. Now all he has left is his nightmarish memories and warlike rage. Sage Navarro hated gore. Living in District Ten where animals were raised to be slaughtered, one would think she had at least become indifferent. After winning the Seventy-Second Games, she had grown to despise it even more, wanting to hide away in the pastures of home with her horses. But before she could sneak away for good, she had caught the eye of not just the Capitol, but also a District Two Legacy. How the two fell in love is beyond most people. A Career bred to kill and a cunning girl from an outlying district should have never crossed paths. Their unlikely romance confused but captivated the Capitol citizens, rooting for Ptolemus and Sage's partnership to stand the test of time. It seemed like it might. Until the Third Quarter Quell. Now the two lovers are to be thrust back into the Arena, only one of them permitted to make it out alive. Ptolemus would do anything to protect her, and Sage would do the same. That's why she's so willing to take a gamble on another pair of star-crossed lovers from District Twelve. [CATCHING FIRE - MOCKINGJAY] OC x OC Rankings: #22 in #thehungergames 3/21/24

Yelena Hart was once an orphan of District Eight, adopted by one of the factory managers and his wife as a babe. Unlike her peers, she seemed of the more fortunate, always having enough food, toys and adequate schooling. However, they could never be more wrong. For the moment that she was born, her fate was threaded into the silk of the stars by a poisonous hand with a vengeful grudge. It was only a matter of time before his prophecy would fulfill itself. And when Yelena's name was called at the Reaping of the Sixty-Seventh Hunger Games, it had only just begun. She fought better than one would expect from a poorer District. Those watching presumed it was a combination of luck, a lifetime of being well fed compared to her fellow tributes, and an innate desire to survive. It mostly was. However, even when she fought brilliantly in that Arena, it wasn't quite enough. Because as the final fight of the Sixty-Seventh Hunger Games ensued, Yelena Hart was killed. Dead. Heart completely stopped. But not before her adversary, the tribute of District One. Desperate to give the people a Victor, the Capitol Medical Staff worked tirelessly to revive her. And after being dead for six minutes, they finally presented her to them. A victor that goes by The Revenant certainly attracts a lot of attention. So as years of mentoring pass, she eventually catches the eye of the Capitol's Darling. Finnick Odair has always flirted with Death. But now he just might fall in love her.

Esmeralda Soto was considered to be a bubbly, quick-witted and sweet as honey charmer by those closest to her. Hardly anyone could stay mad at her for long, and if you didn't return her innate cheer that never seemed to run out, you almost felt guilty. At least, that's who lingered near her circle felt. As for the rest of District Seven, that was a different story. Being the controversial Mayor Soto's only daughter came with a list of privileges and a big red target on her back. While her father was not particularly cruel, he was not favored either. Playing a dangerous balancing act of protecting your people and keeping your head still attached to your shoulders, he tended to be the face of bad news. Especially when a beloved and inspiring accused rebel by the name of Aspen Lim is hanged for treason in the Square. Now with the First Quarter Quell, or the Twenty-Fifth Hunger Games, a special and cruel twist has been added to the stakes. The Districts get to vote for the male and female tributes to represent them in the annual pageant. Selected by her own community to march to her untimely death, Esmeralda must navigate stinging betrayal, heartbreak, and absolute terror to survive for people that don't want to see her come home. Not only that, but her District partner, also voted to fight to the death, is Rowan Lim. The little brother of the very rebel her father had executed.

In Career Districts like One, Two, and sometimes Four, to participate in the Games wasn't a death sentence, but an honor- an opportunity for glory and to memorialize your name in infamy. When the Sixty-Eighth Hunger Games came around, there was no one who craved that chance more than seventeen-year-old Blaze Rosales. After all, reputations especially matter in the luxury District of One. Being the youngest daughter of low-level ruby miners, Blaze has always had an inhuman drive to succeed, golden eyes clearly set on the prize. No one, not even her older sister, was going to get in her way. Despite her family's low rank, when it was time for the Academy to decide who would volunteer to represent their District in the Games, all her hard work would pay off. Blaze Rosales is selected as District One's female tribute to compete for that bloody crown. This is what she wanted. At least, this is what she thought she wanted. But when the clock finally winds down, and there are youthful faces like hers to finally put to the training mannequins, she realizes the bloodstains from that crown just may not be worth it anymore. The price for this glory she so ruthlessly craved will cost her more than she anticipated. It will cost her her soul. Something that once you lose it, it's ten times harder to get it back.
