"Ahh... Hi." Lena looks up at the blonde woman, expecting a fan that recognized her, she raises an eyebrow. "Umm... all the tables are taken up and the inside is full too. So do you mind if I sit with you? I mean I guess I could just go home but I was kind of looking forward to reading at my favorite Cafe on a beautiful day like today. But I can just go. I should go. Never mind." Lena laughs. "You can sit, as long as you stop talking." That doesn't happen though. They end up deep in conversation for the better part of an hour when Lena's phone rings, its Jess telling her she is late for sound check. "You have to go?" The woman looks disappointed. "Yeah, I do." "Wait!" Lena turns back to the woman suddenly standing and raises an eyebrow. "Can I see you again?" "I won't be here long. I travel a lot." "Well can I have your name at least?" Lena pauses to think then stretches out her hand. "Elena Colby." the woman takes it. "Well, Elena. I'm Kara Danvers. And if I see you again I am going to ask again." Lena smiles at the woman's boldness.

Lena Luthor has success in many areas of her life, however love is not one of them. She has the ultimate crush on her best friend of ten years Kara Danvers, the budding journalist. After a life threatening incident in Lena's lab will she finally admit how she really feels for Kara, or keep on living a lie? (This is an AU story so Kara has no powers in this story, and the Luthors aren't a notorious evil, alien killing dynasty)

When Kara is healing from an attack at L-Corp. Lena learns that Kara is super girl and she now more than ever has to protect Kara from her mother and Kara has to learn to embrace herself for loving Lena and help find the courage to live her life in a shadow of her past life on krypton.Will they go the distance or will their past interfere from living their future that they worked so hard for? slow burn

Taking place at the end of season two. Kara is grieving the loss of Mon-El. ( I know no one really liked him but in the show she still was portrayed loving him) Lena comes to comfort her and the two grow closer before secrets tear them apart. Can they overcome both their pasts to look toward their future or is a wedge permanently driven between them? I do not own the characters or even most of the dialog in the first chapter.
