It was time to leave. Time to move on from this place that Nicolae called home. The grief was almost suffocating, the happiness gone from the castle that he dwells in. His father was no longer the same man he was years before the house fire began during a business trip with his family. With the death of his wife, there was no telling when he'd stop mourning. Nicolae couldn't blame him though. He loved his mother, but couldn't recall much of her like the rest of his older siblings. All he wanted to do was just escape from the sorrow and his desire to explore the rest of the world was no help in preventing him from leaving.

Prince Bridger hates his name... and the plans his parents have for him. As the fifth son he has only one duty: to marry well. But his parent's choice for bride is a girl whose family line leads back to piracy and the devastating Decade's War. Bridger retaliates by boycotting the marriage and borrowing one of his father's ships to find his own path, following the tale of a sleeping princess with gold to spare. His pirate bride chases after him, for a woman spurned is a dangerous thing. As he avoids cutthroats, sea monsters, and other dangers, Bridger is left to wonder if the lure of a sleeping princess is worth every obstacle he faces. When one sets out for adventure, a bit of peace and quiet is sometimes appreciated.
