Unless someone stands in your way…” Growing up, Callie Tollson had always admired her older brother, Clay, for being exactly who he wanted to be…despite the consequences he faced doing so. That is until he turned the tables and unleashed harm back on those who had done it to him. She couldn’t understand why, being the one who stood up for him the most, she was the one he picked as the receiver for the final bullet in his gun. Now she’s the most feared girl in school with a haunting family tie to keep her stuck in the halls of Riverton High. As she tries to survive the rest of her junior year as the sister of the boy who brought a gun to school, she soon realizes she owes nothing to the boy who turned on her and everything to the boy who saved her life.

When they meet, it was in the most awkward way possible. Leonardo, accidentally spilled his coffee on Amber's favorite top making Amber so furious that she decided to give him a piece of her mind. As Leonardo tries to get closer to Amber, Amber knows that she can't be in a relationship. She's not good at expressing herself, neither at bringing down her walls that protect her from all the hardship in her life. Will she let her walls down and let Leonardo in her heart? * My hands trembled as I took a shaky breath. I should've done something, I should've realized it sooner. The pain and desperation I saw in her eyes every time I looked at her. Damn it! I looked at the right corner of the letter. It was stained with dried blood, her blood. Suddenly a shrill cry of a machine snapped me out of my thoughts and I looked up. A team of doctors and nurses were running straight into Amber's room carrying a defibrillator. No. I stood up from the chair I was sitting and ran up to the room but a nurse stopped me. "Sir, you can't go in." The nurse said. I tried to push the nurse away but it was useless, she held on tightly. "NO! AMBER! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME! I LOVE YOU!" I screamed at the top of my lungs but it was useless, she was gone.
