But when he breaks out, he comes for Leslie and they run away, hiding from the police together. Now, it’s months later and Jack and the newsies are going on strike because of raised paper prices. That’s when Leslie meets Spot Conlon, the fast talking, wise craking, cocky king of the Brooklyn newsies. He’s too cocky for comfort with Leslie and he just thinks she’s pretty. But as time goes on, will they develop feelings for each other? But by the time they do, will it be too late? Will Leslie’s past catch up with her? And will the roughness of the streets threaten to tear her and Spot apart?
