This is so fucked up. I've fallen in love with a girl I cannot fix. She's so incredibly broken to a point where all the hairline cracks in her soul have become rigid fractures. And here I am, completely shattered by the wake of her self-destruction. *** She will do everything to erase her past. He will do everything to win her back. Some secrets should be left buried. Even if it's wrong. Mason Royce understands that. He's been keeping quiet for years. But he soon realizes that those secrets are costing him. It is the one thing that is keeping the very girl he wants away from him. Laurie Asher doesn't want love. Or more specifically, she doesn't want Mason. The mere presence of him reminds her of all the horrifying memories haunting her. She is hell-bent on salvaging what's left of her broken spirit. But it's impossible with Mason's unwavering determination to win her over. With the magnitude of their past shrouding over their world like a deadly storm, it's a disaster waiting to destroy them. *** MORE DETAILS INSIDE. I'm a Wattpad newbie! "Addie, darling. Go stay inside of the tent. Lock it. Don't come out. I have to check on your father. He went into the forest and isn't answering. He hasn't even taken his bow and quiver. Something is wrong. Stay here." "But Mum, I-" "Stay. Nothing bad can ever happen to you, okay? That must never be the case. You are too special to let yourself go. Even if you are alone." My mother grabbed me by the arm, and even though it ached, I didn't pull away. I needed to memorize her touch, to soothe me when my heart ached. When she was no more. I needed to make sure I could see her in my mind, hear her voice, love her. When she was gone. "Just remember, Adrianne, we love you. And you will find us. I'm sure of it." She ran from the tent with her bow loaded, hiding behind a tree. Loud thumps could be heard, and the ground shook. A large shadow loomed before my mother, the woman notching her arrow to the bow, aiming with precision. I could hear an arrow whiz through the air, hitting it's target, whatever it was. A roar split my eardrums. A scream followed, and then all was silent. That moment will always plague my mind. Whatever happens. The brave, strong girl that everyone calls Adrianne is a shell, protecting my inner self. That is the most absurd thing you will hear in this part of the world. "Oh, young Adrianne isn't half as powerful as she looks! She isn't even strong enough to let the memory of her parents go." That's right. I'm not ready to let them go. I know they are still there, and one thing is sure. A huntress's instincts are always right. I promise you, I will find my parents. And their abductors will pay for what they did to my family. I'll make sure of that. ~~~~~ #627 as of 6/13/17 Second book in the Novella Uprising series

Carthreed is a town on the verge of a supernatural crisis. That, or an unprecedented case of mass hysteria. Cory tries to keep his life on track after high school when his friends and entire family have left the town. Given the circumstances it seems wise to keep one's head down and not play the hero, but a sense of duty, along with a new friend and an old flame, put him back in the center of the action. Ethan knows there's something completely off with him but nothing from myth or legend explains his 'symptoms', and his quest for answers drives him into increasingly dangerous waters that not even Cory can keep him from. A riveting coming of age story about an orphaned dracon shifter's struggle to control her own fate. "Black as a moonless night, might makes right," Joel whispered the old saying under his breath. His fingers clenched around my wrist before he released me and stepped away, his aura flashing with yellows and spring greens - excited and amused. Mostly excited. Definitely not afraid. "Precisely," I said. Out of the corner of my eye, I watched Grandfather's deep purple aura turn orange. Feigned disappointment. In his opinion, aura reading was a potential weakness and one he never hesitated to exploit. He only broadcast his emotions when he wanted someone to read them. I rolled my eyes. "Stop acting so disappointed, Grandfather. This is what you wanted, isn't it? Why else would he-" I nodded to Joel "-be here? Our world is beneath his notice unless you invited him." "Lured," Joel supplied helpfully. So I wasn't the only one Grandfather tricked. "Tell me, Grandfather. Did you want Director Nease dead?"
