(AU) Luke is gone. Kylo Ren is the new Supreme Leader. The Resistance is all but decimated. Now, all responsibility falls on Rey to balance the Force and bring an end to this war. But as a relatively untrained Jedi, she will not be able to find balance in the Force when she cannot find balance within herself. With whispers of Palpatine's return, the Dark side has been growing stronger and stronger every day. Will she be able to defeat them or will the pull to the Dark be enough to turn her and cause a different ending to the war? *This is an alternative universe that takes place just before/during the events of the Rise of Skywalker. There will be some things that could be similar to the film, but I will be changing quite a bit. There are many items and powers that exist in TROS that I personally do not feel make sense, so they will be omitted (The dagger, lightspeed skipping, Anakin's saber, to name a few). This story follows some of our favorite characters from the Star Wars franchise and some new faces too. May contain graphic content.*

"If you call me by that name again, I will kill you," he warned her, his voice both silky and shaking through the mask's filter. Rey had the audacity to smirk at him, and she taunted, "You do not care for the sound of your own name." "I do not," he snapped. "Test me again, and it will be the last thing you do." "Your threats do not put fear inside of me." Rey shook her head, looking serene. That only enraged Kylo Ren more, and he pulled his hand up again. She used the Force to lower his hand, and he could scarcely fight through it. He grunted in aggravation and started to threaten her again, but she whispered, "Calm yourself. I'm not here to fight. I'm here to talk." He snorted with derisive laughter. "I have no wish to speak with you." Rey blinked. "Luke Skywalker sent me here to try to sway you back to the Light." "Did he?" Kylo Ren nodded and shrugged, feeling the material of his black tunic constrict uncomfortably around his shoulders. Luke Skywalker wanted to turn him back to the Light? That was rich. Kylo Ren quirked up half his mouth beneath his mask. "How unfortunate for him."

Following the events after The Last Jedi. "Just a dream, it was just a dream," she says aloud attempting to calm herself, but the feeling doesn't dissipate, and her heart is still racing. She stands and walks towards the doorway to the fresh air outside, trying to get the images out; a child her child and his. She feels sick and faint, is this a panic attack? She walks outside her hut and stands in the rain holding onto the wooden railing of the platform around the cabin tightly to give her balance. #2-Reylo 25.11.2018, 24.10.19 #1- ReyxKyloRen 1.3.2019, 6.1.22 #2- starwarsfanfiction 31.12.19 #13- starwars 21.8.19 #2- starwarssequels 10.12.20 Big fan of the movies and books. I am a massive Reylo shipper- #Reyloisendgame, but there is nothing mature rated or not appropriate for say 12-year-old plus. I do not own the original star wars characters. I do not own the artwork throughout, except the art on the note from myself which is mine. The cover is by Heidi Hastings. "I appreciated how much you fleshed out the story, truly making it a potential movie in the franchise. I can't not mention the romance. You truly made Ben and Rey's relationship believable on many levels. From his temper and passion to his devotion to Rey, I loved how you didn't make light of his past so that we can accept him easier. They complete each other and their love brings balance to the universe and gives them what they have always wanted - true acuhceptance and companionship." "I have not encountered anything so truly amazing since 'Bloodline' (Claudia Grey)." "I have read so much fanfiction, normally I don't read smutless stories, but this one is so well written, beautiful ending and I couldn't stop today until I finished it." "This is one of, if not the best Reylo books I have read so far."
