"You must love a princess, Daniel!" My mother shouted. The entire room went uncomfortably silent for what seemed like hours. "But what if I love a prince instead?" //To clarify, this is set in the past. I imagine somewhere between 1500's and 1700's. //ALSO, history nerds, don't come for me if something is historically inaccurate. The only history class I have ever payed attention in was my western civilization college course that I took the summer after 10th grade.

Daniel James Howell is a sixteen year old gay boy who dresses in pastels and flower crowns, and can't be bothered to straighten his hair. He listens to NeverShoutNever, Taylor Swift, and Oh Honey. So why on Earth does Phillip Lester, bad boy supreme, follow him, if he's only ever hung out with similarly punk friends with muscles and piercings and tattoos? Because there is no way, n-o w-a-y, that he could like Dan. Right?

Dan wasn't like any other 16-year-old boy. He liked flowers and pink things. Big deal? Clearly it was to those around him. He was different, that was why they hated him. Phil was like most 16-year-old boys, just not like the ones at his school. Being raised in a nasty neighbourhood meant the piercings and dyed hair were also seen as different. If you weren't rich, you were a mistake. When these two outcasts meet, they'll change each other's lives forever. They just need to learn to let each other in.

Dan normally keeps to himself, as to not get into any trouble, which he was prone to do at his old school, but when he interacts with Phil, that changes. *Horrible summary, I know, but the story is great- I promise.
