Gerard Way has always dreamed about using his voice to change the world, but he's never had the guts or motivation to speak up. An anxiety disorder rests upon his shoulders everywhere he goes, most times making him cower away from any opportunities. But when a chance to audition for American Idol comes up, he immediately takes action. With a nonsupporting father and a brother that doesn't have time for him, going alone is his only option-or so he thinks. While at auditions, he meets guitarist Frank Iero, and he starts to realize what true trust feels like.
