Ai is a sixteen-year-old girl that has been given the role of Land God by the previous God, Mikage. However, as Ai is human and hasn't had enough time to learn how to use her abilities as a God, she needs the protection of a Familiar in the interim as she is now a target for demons being a God with the weaknesses of a human. After forcing a Yokai named Tomoe into being her familiar life is anything but easy for Ai, but she's used to working hard. The two often end up at odds with one another, but maybe there is something more at play here?

When the previous generation of the world, Evermore's, defenders are killed or scattered by its Sleeper God, it is up to the younger generation to bring the world back to balance for True Death and hopefully bring back those lost to the Sleeper God.
