Ashley Carson was a quiet girl. She didn't have many friends - or any at all, for that matter - and she had an unhealthy obsession with fairy tales. Her only explanation was that the lonely girl with the horrible step-mother always came out on top. So what if for her it was actually her mother? It was still the same concept, she rationalized. She keeps one too many dark secrets - it's only a matter of time before someone finds out. Ryder Halley was nothing but a criminal in the eyes of Wood High School, along with his four brothers and their girlfriends. He didn't quite mind that much, though - he never quite minded anything. It was high school - get in, get out. He had a routine, nothing holding him down. If he got killed, who cares? He wasn't leaving behind a sobbing girlfriend, so it was okay. But then all of that changes because of his fucking older brother.

Carl Grimes's life was great. He had both parents, a ton of friends, and a great role model. His dad was a sheriff at the King's County Police Department, while his mom was a stay at home mother. His role model just so happened to be his dad's best friend and partner at the station, Shane Walsh. Carl was content with his life. What more could he want? Emily Walsh was a good girl. She would anything to please her mother, who was never around. Straight A's, teacher's pet, the quiet student who never got in trouble, etc. Though she didn't have friends, she excelled in school. Home life was quite different. Her mother was an EMT for the city of Atlanta and worked long hours, leaving Emily home alone with her studies and Ms. Ella, her nanny. Emily's father was a sore subject that her mother would never speak of. As far as Emily knew, her father didn't know she existed, but that would change... By fate, Carl and Emily meet, but only by a tragedy. Their lives are shaken up and rearranged. Not only does their first impression and encounter suck, but so does their future. As time goes on, they see each other as best friends and are inseparable, but will that change when the dead start walking? All rights go to Robert Kirkman and AMC. The only character I own is Emily and my added characters. I do not own The Walking Dead or any of their characters. #1 shanewalsh: May 10, 2018 #1 carlgrimesfanfiction: February 22, 2019 #2 rickgrimes: October 13, 2019 #1 carl: April 10, 2020 Started: October 1, 2017. "Kiss me." He orders, slamming my locker shut. "Is she coming?" I ask, turning my head to look behind me, but he grabs my face and makes me look up at him. "Yes, now kiss me." I do as told, getting on my tippy toes as I lean up to kiss him. He kisses me back slowly, before he pins me against the lockers and deepens the kiss. My eyes widen and I try to push him away. This isn't part of the deal. He pulls away, a full on smirk plastered on his face. "I lied." He confesses, turning around. "She wasn't coming." Then, he walks away.

"I don't know who you think you are coming here, and acting like you don't care about anything. Now listen here Princess, because I'm not going to repeat myself. Here's a couple of rules that I'd like to enlighten upon you. Number one, you do not talk back to me. And two, you don't mess with me or the rules," his breath fans my face and I close my eyes. The proximity between us was terrifying. "I've dealt with many bitches like you, so I suggest that you follow those rules unless you want to end up like them," - he leans in. His mouth lingers near my ear, "used." ... "... You might think that you run this place, but you do not run me. Understand? And the sooner you understand that, the better it'll be for the both of us," I warn staring right into his eyes before walking away. I was more than amused by his dumbfounded expression. I stop, and turn back around, facing him, "And one piece of advice, know what you're fishing for before you start fishing. What if you find a shark and it reels you in, instead?" ⇒Highest rank: 1 in Chicklit on 01.08.16

The fear is what gets us all, isn't it? The fear of getting caught, the fear of breaking the rules, the fear of being different. We all lead our lives because of it. I, however, feared the thought of being in love; actually, the thought of being loved. That feeling repeated inside of me for years, until I realized why, and the boy I fell for helped me find the answer. It all began with my father's first slap, but escalated to what I never thought would actually destroy the hope of happiness inside me: love itself.
