Areya, a young Elf, has escaped Mirkwood, only to find that outside of the kingdom, the world is frightening and different. When she is brought to Laketown by a mysterious man by the name of Bard, she wonders if leaving Mirkwood was the right choice to make. Meanwhile, a company of dwarves journeys to Erebor to try and take back their mountain kingdom from a dragon.

However, the dangerous adventure that she expected didn't turn out the way she anticipated when love gets thrown in as well when she meets a certain young dwarf prince.
