Back in the 70s, I lived in West Jutland with my parents with an annoying little brother. On a cold winter evening, my mother told us to have a holiday child from Copenhagen to stay with us when the summer holiday came. I was told that there was a girl named Lotte and she was 3 years older than me. At first I was a little, not to say much, skeptical. What would such a Copenhagen side here be like in our area? She could not guess that here smelled of land (read: cows and what came out of them) and that she would certainly be afraid of everything that was moving. But after a while, I got used to thinking, and in my way I was looking forward to getting a little company, other than my little brother, well helped by my mother's explanations and understanding words. Then it was finally summer vacation, the school was over and now life would be enjoyed. The weather was shown by its finest side, with over 25 degrees and high sun. I spent time on my back on a blanket in the garden while reading weekly magazines, which I "stole" from my mother and drank juices. Then came the day where Lotte was to arrive. teensnow My father picked her up at the train station while my mother made coffee and baked muffins. I did not seem to care but was still excited and had cleaned up extra thoroughly on my room and had been in the bathroom. Then the car rolled into the yard and I stood in the window to see Lotte when she got out of the car.
