This means that Alex had to leave his best friend, his only friend that he had known since birth. And he just knows that he won't take the news lightly. But they manage to keep in touch for years to come until one day, when Alexander is older, he decides to move to New York where his friend will be attending college. And he is a nervous wreck to meet him again. Will he still like him? Did he move on and find other friends? Regardless, he was terrified to find out. This is a Lams modern au. Alexander Hamilton always wears sunglasses. He wears them outside, inside, at night, he even wears them at the movies. No one has ever really questioned him on why....that is until a certain man named John Laurens comes into his life. The year is 1993, John Laurens is 16 years old. His mother just passed away a month ago, leaving his father devastated and masking his pain with alcohol. John has been in a secret relationship with a family friend for 10 months, but it no longer feels right. Alexander is living with the Washingtons, and comes to spend the weekend at the Laurens' farmhouse where things change for everyone.
