By his own admission, David states he could get them there, but he'd rather they fixed him along the way, being a decapitated head isn't the lifestyle for him. Only, being left alone doesn't mean he will just spend his time minding his business like he did when on the Prometheus, no, David has ideals, has plans, and getting rid of the Engineers is just step one. After many, many years, when a crew appear suddenly, he cannot help but find curiosity in them, even more so when an android, a brother in arms, is with them. Who and why are the crew of the Covenant here? And who are the other mysterious colonists which keep getting mentioned? Not all is what it appears to be within Paradise, and honestly, David doesn't find himself caring all that much.
