If one refuses to accept or be close to their soulmate, their body weakens and the die. It's a situation where you can never break up or divorce your soulmate. Izuku Midoriya is a young boy anxious to meet his soulmate, he isn't pleased seeing a guy and thinks it's some kind of mistake but it isn't.
