Aileen was a sweet, innocent, young girl with a hopeful future in a loving family. However at the tender age of twelve she was captured by slavers and sold to a brutal warlord. Now at seventeen, she was hardened and jaded by beatings and more unspeakables. Willard was a fine young man, whose family was in turmoil. He's father was dead and his elder brother was a disgrace. Their farm was failing and if he couldn't save his mother and sisters with a plow he'd do it with a sword, even if that meant signing on with a dishonorable warlord. Aileen was as resigned to her fate as Willard, but maybe after they meet they may be able to change their awful fate.
