Roman torchwick was a mole sent and hired by qrow. Once Ozpin found out he convince all the teacher at Beacon to let Roman stay at Beacon. Qrow tells Roman to protect Ruby when he's away on missions, but Ozpin only told Ruby's team mates and friends about Qrow and Roman deals. When Ruby's hurt in battle WBY, JNPR and Roman takes care of her. After a while Roman and Ruby start getting closer.
