Magic caused the war. Magic is forbidden. Magic will save us. The Relic Guild is the award nominated first book in The Relic Guild trilogy. It was said the Labyrinth had once been the great meeting place, a sprawling city at the heart of an endless maze where a million humans hosted the Houses of the Aelfir. But when the Thaumaturgists, overlords of human and Aelfir alike, went to war, everything was ruined and the Labyrinth became an abandoned prison. The surviving humans were trapped behind boundary walls a hundred feet high, and all magic was forbidden. And now the war is returning. The Relic Guild are all that stand against the end of the city. But they are old, scattered and weak, and the enemy is growing in strength... Here in THE RELIC GUILD (and other stories) please enjoy a large chunk of The Relic Guild Trilogy (published with kind permission of my publisher Gollancz), complete short stories, the odd poem, one or two blog posts, and samples chapters from my other novels.

In the blood-soaked kingdom of Verona, peace is nothing more than a myth. Viktorya Dracul is the heir to the Darkling throne and daughter of the infamous Vlad the Impaler, the ruthless king whose name alone has plunged nations into fear. Raised to play pawn in a game of kings, Viktorya has spent her life preparing for war - not love. Cassian, feared prince of the dæmons, has been called many things: monster, harbinger, hell incarnate. With his kingdom on the brink of ruin, he is determined to destroy the Darkling reign once and for all. When fate brings them together, neither knows the identity of the other. Drawn together by a dangerous attraction neither can resist, their connection quickly spirals into something all-consuming. But in a world ruled by bloodshed, power, and betrayal, love is the deadliest weakness of all. Especially when Viktorya is already promised to Emrys, the Lycan prince, in a political marriage meant to unite kingdoms and prevent another devastating war. As alliances crumble and ancient hatreds ignite, Viktorya and Cassian must decide what they are willing to sacrifice for each other - their crowns, their people... or the world itself. Inspired by Romeo and Juliet, Heir of Night is a dark fantasy romance filled with forbidden love, savage courts, deadly secrets, and kingdoms destined to drown in blood.
