Grey loves to PVP. She goes around small servers, winning contests and receiving awards, and currently holds a reputation as one of the best PVPers on servers like BeanBlockz, Dancraft, and DianneNetwork, and wins every fight she comes across- well, almost.
When her friend introduces her to a new server, Hypixel, she is determined to challenge and win and build a reputation on a big server, not just the small ones she has practically dominated. But to her shock, she gets utterly destroyed in the first game of bedwars she plays. And as she gets overwhelmed by incredibly skilled players on the server, she realizes: the people are different here.
They are not the noobs she expected to encounter, which is a big problem for her desire to build a reputation- and to join the Grand PVP Tournament on Hypixel.
Just as she thinks her hopes and dreams of being a PVP master are completely destroyed and is about to leave the server forever, a world famous trainer, Slash, offers her a helping hand, asking if he can help her win the Grand PVP tournament.
Grey doesn't want to accept Slash's help at first- that is until she sees him in action.
Slash, a whirlwind of sword and fist, utterly destroys a bedwars game using his unbeatable skill- and even Grey herself is impressed.
Gradually, Slash trains her, until she is nearly- close, but not yet- as good as Slash himself. But her skill isn't the only thing that grows. As lessons go by, her admiration and trust for him builds, until she finds herself treating him like just a little more than a friend. And on the their final lesson, he wishes her luck on winning the tournament.
But when the day of the tournament comes, she realizes something she should've asked herself a long time ago: is winning really that important? Was there finally something- or someone- she loved more than just a shiny new trophy on her shelf?
