Paris, 1832. Amélie has spent her life watching the poor suffer while the wealthy look away. After losing her mother to an illness that could have been treated had they possessed the money, she has little faith in love, even less in marriage, and none at all in the men that claim to know what's best for her. She and her father survive in a weathered cottage on the outskirts of the city, making do with what little they have. Everything changes when she befriends Gavroche, a fearless street boy whose boundless optimism leads her to the secret meetings of Les Amis de l'ABC. There she meets Enjolras. Born into privilege but devoted to the people, Enjolras lives only for the revolution. To him, Amélie is reckless, infuriating, and a distraction from the cause. To her, he is arrogant, stubborn, and far too willing to decide who deserves to fight. As Paris marches towards rebellion, so do their hearts. What begins as resentment slowly becomes admiration, then love- but revolutions demand sacrifice, and love offers no protection from fate. When the barricades finally rise, Amélie refuses to stand aside. Together, she and Enjolras make their final stand, fighting not only for the France they dream of, but for one another, until the very last shot is fired.

"𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭; 𝐈'𝐦 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮." They were children when they first met-she, the daughter of privilege; he, the boy with revolution in his blood. Years later, they meet again... on opposite sides of a world about to burn. Nineteen year old Adelaide Arnault returns to Paris expecting a life of elegance and order. But everything changes when she crosses paths with Enjolras, the boy she once knew-now a man leading a city toward rebellion. Drawn back into his orbit, Adelaide is swept into a world of defiance, devotion, and buried memories that refuse to fade. As the barricades rise and the past collides with the future, Adelaide must face the truth of who she is-and who she loves. But some stories were never meant to last forever.

You are one of many people in France who (hardly) make a living as a beggar. Street corners have become your home, kind words become a rarity, and while you have often heard talk of revolution, it wasn't until much later that you were finally able attend one of the meetings led by some freedom-thirsty schoolboys. It was only then that you officially decided to become part of this revolution... and you soon realized how great of a love you held for both a man and for France. *** Note: I do not own any of the characters from Les Misérables! They are all a part of the work by Victor Hugo (who is a really great author)... also, while I do own some portions of the plot, this is primarily based off of the order from musical. Thank you all for reading! Highest Ranking: #1 in Enjolras (9/24/18)
