Harper's a traveling photographer and ended up in a small province known as Fell's Landing. The 'capital' was a small town called Carran, built in the mid 1600s. It holds the house of the Landing's only empress. It's a town rumor that their empress, who was called Lady Acker by the citizens, was a vampire. Harper ended up rooming with a boy in the only hotel. He calls himself Tanner and he had grown up in Carran. He seems a little too bitter when he shows Harper around, more in some places than others.
