Mal was saved by Carlos who stood by and protected Mal from Ben because Carlos and mal are best friends but they don't realise that they both want to be more than friends ..........

After undergoing a transformation Mal starts to feel unsure she wants to live in Auradon when she confronts her friends no one but Carlos understands. Throughout their childhood Mal has only seen Carlos as the spunky kid who was afraid of dogs. But she starts to see him more than a friend and is convinces Ben likes her when she is not being herself. She dyes her hair back purple and starts to become herself and Ben doesn't like this. Carlos having his own feelings for Mal since they were little starts to embrace these feelings. But Mal stills like Ben but starts to develop feelings Carlos along the way.

Mal, Evie, and Jay attempt to help Carlos build the courage to ask Jane out. When words failed, they decided to make chocolate chip cookies mixed with Mal's love spell. However, their plan backfires when Mal is the first person Carlos sees after he eats one of the cookies. Carlos becomes hopelessly in love with Mal, much to the latter's chagrin. However, a spark inside Mal lights up when Carlos confessed his "undying love" for her. The daughter of Maleficent begins to wonder what that spark means.

Mal now that she's the princess of the Isle has been improving it. Lonnie is now on the R.O.A.R thanks to the guys petitioning. Carlos gives Jay relationship advice when he goes on his first date. Gil and Harry have gone soft and are becoming more Auradon everyday. Deep beneath the sea Uma plans to get revenge.
