Some of these days are delightful, filled with joy and cheer, and others are haunting, memorable in the worst ways possible. You try to keep those days away from your thoughts and make sure the happy ones are always on hand, but it's difficult. It's difficult to forget your first heartbreak, or the loss of a loved one, isn't it? Life is so chock-full of surprises for us to experience, and we can't control what kinds of days are thrown at us. But as for me, I'll never forget the day when my baby brother Mikey was drafted into what would soon become the worst and most devastating world war in history.
