Studying geology was not supposed to involve helping an alien prevent the destruction of his world. -- When a large crystal falls from the sky and lands in her friend's rural backyard, geologist Jade Harlow cannot help her curiosity. However, when it gradually changes over the course of a year, it becomes apparent that there is much more going on then she first thought, especially when there seems to be a body inside of it. It all falls apart when the Krisoala, the alien race responsible for the crystal, comes to collect it. The being inside introduces himself as Nesilva, a Krisoala himself. He's on the run from his own species, who have plans to create a new type of organism too powerful to exist in nature. The Krisoala are here, and they are one step away from finishing their catastrophic experiments. All they need is Nesilva. Except there's something else, something about Earth that appeals to the Krisoala, something they may have to take by any means necessary.

It was common knowledge that she was sweet, kind... and completely ordinary. Audrey had always relied on herself. In a world full of superheroes, with enhanced bodies and mystical powers, she only had her mind. Yet when she's thrown into a whirlwind of conspiracy and underground organisations she realizes just how powerful it is. Excerpt: The sobbing surrounded me as I reached school. Piled up around a photo of his face were piles of flowers, so high they threatened to swallow me completely. I gulped down the tightening of my throat, subtly pressing down on my chest trying to relieve the sudden, strange breathlessness I was feeling. Hurrying away from the looming pile, I pushed past a reporter; he was manipulating the earth into a movable stand for his camera. I looked away at the blatant flaunting of his power. I was suffocating, as if, if I looked up, they would recognize me and swarm me, snapping handcuffs on my wrists, dragging me away. But that was ridiculous, after all- no one knew I killed him.
