When Arabella Figg overhears one of Harry's harsh punishments, the adoption process is sped up and Harry is given to Sirius and his best friend and roommate, Remus Lupin. Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, long time friends of Harry's father, James, finally found Harry with the Dursley's. They believed that Harry belonged with them, Sirius being his Godfather and rightful guardian.
