Love was never what the books promised it would be.
It wasn't magical. It wasn't gentle. It never filled my stomach with butterflies or made me feel like I was someone's favorite person.
The love I knew never felt like home.
It never gave me comfort, security, or peace. Instead, it left me questioning my worth, drowning in insecurities, and begging for affection that was never truly mine.
Maybe it was never love at all.
Because love isn't supposed to make you feel invisible while the person you love gives their heart to someone else.
Yet there I was, forced to watch him choose her every single day, while all I could do was love him in silence... and let him love another woman.
Every memory became another wound. Every goodbye felt like torture disguised as hope.
Now, I'm left wondering if a heart that has loved this deeply can ever learn to love again.
Or if he was the last person I'll ever love.
