Kiera knows how to read movement.
Onstage, every turn has a centre. On the football pitch, every player has a position. In the lab, every signal has a source.
What she does not know is what to do when a person refuses to fit neatly into any of them.
A charity gala leaves Kiera with a performance she will not forget and a thirty-second encounter with Pedri , a famous footballer, complete stranger, and, in her opinion, absolutely nothing more.
Until he turns up months later in her engineering lab.
Kiera is building wearable sensors to analyse athletic movement. Pedri is there to be tested. Neither expects the ballerina and the footballer to keep crossing paths, least of all in a university lab where she is much more interested in fixing a calibration error than impressing him.
But somewhere between football matches, late-night conversations, ballet rehearsals, unanswered messages, bad timing and the increasingly complicated space between friendship and something else, they begin learning that connection isn't instinctive.
It has to be built.
And sometimes, the hardest thing is not finding your place beside someone.
It is learning how to make room for both of you to move.
