Cameron Walker is a senior in high school and captain of the soccer team who has a reputation for being a man-whore (a guy who avoids commitment, sleeps around, and seemingly lacks a conscience). He and his four friends; Patrick Coppola, Jack Hesse, Dylan Abadi, and Cody Rivers, make bets every semester to get a girl to fall for and then sleep with them for money. Rebecca Santos isn't ignorant to their ways, so when Cameron suddenly notices her she knows she should shut him down. But with her parents forcing their religious beliefs upon her along with other pressures, a lapse in judgement takes her on an unexpected journey of love shattered by a promise gone wrong.

Both Jacob and Serena have had bumps in life, some that have had a major influence on who they are as a person. Through certain circumstances, their lives intertwine. Jacob is a heartless bad boy who claims to have no romantic emotions. Serena is a girl who has been broken by those closest to her. They each have baggage, but they develop the need to help each other through the pain. Neither are perfect but it's a perfect coincidence when they bump into the other.
