However, after some digging, Pidge comes across a vital piece of information that Lotor "forgot" to tell them. Years ago, after the solar system's thousand-year rebellion had been forced to an end by Galra forces, Lotor was dragged back into Zarkon's plans when he and the Crown Princess were forced into marriage to secure control. While neither is originally thrilled about the arrangement, they end up falling in love. Sadly, Lotor was banished to the end of the galaxy. Any attempt to contact her will mean the end of his lover's home, people, and her life. With no other choice, he's forced to wait.
