Temperance was left on the doorstop of a convent as an infant. 25 years later, she has become a registered nurse at a free clinic run by the state. She sends anonymous gifts to the orphanage where she grew up and tries to help the people of the neighborhood she lives in. After many years, and abuses at numerous foster homes, she decides that happily ever after never happens. When she meets Zep, a sexy but very mysterious man, her life suddenly spins out of control. He is definitely attracted to her, but keeps denying her advances. She has no interest in a relationship and he doesn't seem to want one either. She knows he has secrets, but never once did she consider him a demon out to lead her soul into damnation.
