"You're mine," he said. "Mine to torment, mine to play with, mine to do whatever the hell I want with, and there's nothing you are anyone else can do about it."
I glare at him from my spot on the dirty, blood-stained ground; my fists clench at my sides, knowing he's right; for the moment, I am his, but I'll be damned if I make it easy for him; I'm gonna make him regret the day he ever laid eyes on me and made the decision to claim me in the first place. My body may be his, but one thing I'll guarantee is that he'll never get my soul.
Ashton Blake has had a hard life.
At the tender age of sixteen, she was kidnapped and tortured by a maniac wearing a mask; the only defining feature about him was his piercing Ice blue eyes. For three months, she stayed with him, forced to endure what she thought were unimaginable horrors at his hands before she was finally rescued. But before she was ripped away from his clutches, the man wearing the mask left her with a promise. "I'll be back," he whispered in her ear before disappearing into the shadows. "No matter where you go, how far you run, I'll always be there, waiting for you." Since that eventful night, Ashton has done everything in her power to move past the ordeal, to forget about his eyes, but despite the drugs, medication, therapy, drinking, and partying, nothing seemed to work. When Ashton ends up in the hospital again, Her mom sends her off to live with her father, hoping a change in scenery will return her daughter to the little girl she once was. However, if she thought Ashton's father would whip her into shape, she is sorely mistaken because the only thing Asthon finds in Hill Crest is more trouble, and his name is Malachi McDaniels, and he may have had something to do with her kidnapping.
