Well, if he had known that he'd get marched into the Gotham police station in handcuffs and held in an interrogation room, he'd have probably reconsidered. But, it ends well : he helps solve a murder, isn't charged with a felony, and he gets the girl - well, if by getting the girl you mean being adopted by a very smitten Agent Prentiss, then sure, Jason gets the girl. Honestly it was probably the best mistake he ever made.
