Ralph wormed his way through the dense, dark thicket, inching his way towards the forest, remaining as deep under the smoke as humanly possible. The smoke cleared as he reached the edge of the thicket, leading to an open space of sharp rock and grass, no more than a few meters in length, and in the center of this clearing was a smallish savage, wearing a lighter grey shade of clay to mask his face, standing as Ralph's first obstacle.
As the original Lord of the Flies ended with one of the greatest scenes from any classic novel created in recent memory, but it was followed by the final few anticlimactic paragraphs that ruined everything. So what if we could go back, back to right before the jungle chase scene, and do it all again? Well, it would look something like this...
