A modern day Lams fanfiction. John Laurens had been hiding his sexuality from the world since he was a kid. However, he couldn't hide his interests in guys from his mother and father. Especially from his homophobic father, who hated John for being gay. John battled depression and suicidal thoughts for years before his father decided John was too disgusting to live with his own family anymore. Alexander Hamilton saw nothing wrong with his life. Sure, his father left when he was 10 years old, but he had his mother, who worked hard and taught Alex that the only way to get anywhere in this world was to work for what he wanted. His mother always made enough money to support the two of them, and Alex adopted that work ethic when he moved out of his mom's home. A cozy apartment, a good job with long hours to distract his time with, and a good set of friends. Yeah, his life wasn't too bad. Both men's lives changed one day in a pouring rainstorm. A chance encounter leads to an act of kindness, and so much more.

Snotty nose children, wailing and crying babies and the stench of germs. Yet, romance blossoms for one of the two. But, both of them knowing that they would never see the other again, abandoned their romanticism and turned their noses up at their feelings. In this AU, Alexander and John plus other friends such as Lafayette, have just started College. John and Alex share a room, which the shippers, Lafayette, Peggy, and Herc, are making a huge deal out of. This leads to many events of shipping, with some trial and error.

John is in college and runs out of his house. He forgets his license which he finds out 2 hours away from home with a man named Alexander. This is their story. Then as I like to say, it trails off into something. Not quite sure what yet, but I have some ideas.
