Today it is the first of January, 2070. Fifty three years ago, powers did not exist. Fifty three years ago, we were not born with voices in our heads. Fifty three years ago, we did not have Meld. To the people of today, such a time, such a life is unimaginable, but that was the truth. Today, we live in a world where ideas can take physical form with the use of little more than an orange crystal, where illnesses and ailments are all but completely eradicated by the substance known as Meld. That is not to say that we live in a world where everyone is happy. In fact, the truth is far from it. It is no different than it was fifty years ago, or even a century. We are still ready to attack, if only with more advanced weapons, with better soldiers.
