Remus Lupin was no ordinary child, obviously. No normal child had flowers growing out of their skin. No normal child had flowers depending on them to eat and drink properly and get enough sun. You see, Remus Lupin was a human-plant hybrid. The first to be exact. It was something that Lyall and Hope Lupin had spent their lives work creating. Many trials had failed, none of them working out quite right - all of them had died in the end.
The goal was to create a human that didn't need to eat or drink because they would be able to photosynthesize. But it didn't work, instead they had created a human with flowers growing out of him. And those flowers all depended on him, the opposite of what they wanted to happen. He was a healthy boy nonetheless and they could not bring themselves to get rid of the progress they made with this one. This one experiment that they had actually somewhat gotten right.
All evidence and knowledge is valuable, especially when it comes to the research and experiments that created Remus Lupin. It's something that others can't seem to recreate, or at least not without Remus. They need him in order to take another step forward in human biology. But no one knows where he is. To add to it, there are a lot of people willing to pay a lot of money, just for a hair on his head.

My inspiration for this comes from JK Rowling's Marauders, the book called The Gardener, my friend's art, a couple of tumblr posts, and my own ideas.
