On Christmas Eve, Emory learns two things.
One, airports are cursed.
Two, she really hates Oliver.
After accidentally crashing into a tall, annoyingly gorgeous stranger and spilling coffee all over his very expensive clothes, Emory is convinced she will never see him again. He is rude, sharp-tongued, and makes her feel like an inconvenience instead of a person. Perfect. Goodbye forever.
Or so she thinks.
When her flight is cancelled, Emory finds herself stranded in a small town in Switzerland, Emory runs into him again. What begins as irritation slowly turns into something softer, something neither of them planned. Snow falls. Time slows. And for a brief moment, Oliver becomes someone she does not want to lose.
When the holidays end, they make a pact.
Friends. Nothing more.
Then Emory loses his number.
Oliver is gone overnight. No goodbye. No explanation. Just silence.
Years pass.
When she runs into him again, older and unfamiliar in all the wrong ways, Emory realizes some people do not fade with time. They disappear. They return.
And sometimes, they come back carrying secrets.
