They are no longer a couple, but they are still friends. So from now on, these short stories are about two 20 something year olds dealing with their heartbreak as friends.

"Why are you cleaning my hand?" David unexpectedly asked. "I don't know. Maybe I am a nice person." I said. I honestly have no idea why I am doing this. I never help him with anything. Then it hit me. I know why I am doing this. Justin isn't here to catch me so my mind is making me help him since I won't get caught or hurt. "Why were you pummeling that guy's face?" I casually asked while I finished up his hand. "He was saying things." David simply said. "What type of things?" I asked. "Things you don't want to know." He stated after sighing. "Just tell me." I said while I started to get annoyed. "Maybe I don't want to tell you." He stated. "Come one. It can't be that b-." I started before I was cut off.

I'm not in love with Nick. I'm not. Do I like Nick? Of course! He's Sam's boyfriend. Why wouldn't I like my best friend's boyfriend? Do I like him in an inappropriate way? Ugh. No! Stop. That would make me a horrible friend. Oh god. That would make me a horrible friend.

Love & Monsters is a story I worked on when I took my first novel writing class at UCLA. Since I lost my sister to suicide, I've been fascinated with exploring mental illness and providing any insight I can to eradicate the stigma. Love & Monsters follows Heather Bateman, a girl who has suffered from schizophrenia all her life but has only recently been diagnosed. She tries to socially recover from a very public mental breakdown with the help of her best friend Wren and a strange new boy who calls himself Nex.

"The first look is accidental, but the second one is intentional." Liza Koshy just wants to finish high school focusing on grades and getting into college, like she has always been worrying about her entire life. When David Dobrik helps picks up her books one day, she thinks it's the last time she is gonna see him. If only she knew it was the first time she would fall in love with him. Hard.
