When Astrid Smith is forced to go to a One Direction concert by her best friend, who won tickets & backstage passes, she meets Niall Horan. She is appalled by him in everyway, but he goes after her & won't leave her alone. When he finally gets to her, he asks for one chance. If she doesnt like it, she's free from him forever. Soon, Niall opens her up, & hears all the secrets she kept from the world. Will this one chance work out, & help her learn to love again, or will it rip her up & destroy her?

Since an early age, Niall has been living under a rare heart condition constraining the majority of his life. To help soften the blow of what the future holds, he makes a single promise to his first love, swearing to be together until the end. However nothing can change the effects of the heart disease constantly weakening the strong façade he has always tried to keep up. Niall's time limit on love eventually grows thinner and thinner, leading him to the possible end of a story of fame, young romance, and hurt. Could anything save the lad from near death? Or will he be forced to leave the life shared with his first love?

However, life is so unexpected and before I knew it, I had a brain tumor, was stripped of my old life and given a new one. A life without my best friend, Niall Horan. I left the X Factor, where I had made it up to bootcamp, but it didn't matter. My dreams were crushed, there was no hope. I never did tell Niall, about my brain tumor and just cut contact with him. He didn't need to worry about me. What I didn't realize is that Faith also comes into play and well Faith does whatever the hell it wants. So next thing I know, here I am, reunited with my best friend. My brain tumor is gone, and I have my best friend back. It's times like these where I realize it's just a little too good to be true. And it is. Slowly, without even meaning to, I start falling for the boy who was none other then my best friend. Everyone knows falling in love with someone you simply cannot have is a nightmare, and I feel as though this nightmare will just never end.
