In a small poultry farm located in Delaney, Georgia an antigenic shift causes the H7N9 virus - also known as the deadly bird flu virus - to jump species. The contagion burns through everything in its path despite the federal government's ham-handed efforts to mask the mutated virus' true nature. Its unprecedented mortality rates soon paralyze the nation - paving the way for martial law to be established across the country. Over a thousand miles away at a maximum security penitentiary south of Tucson, Arizona, Inmate Teddy Sanders' world of structure and routine crumbles to dust, as the virus starts spreading within the confines of the prison's walls. As circumstances force Teddy to step out of his comfort zone and form precarious new alliances, will he be able to adapt and survive or will he succumb to the inherent dangers of the new world?

The world as humanity knew it was gone. In its place was a radioactive wasteland, scorched by nuclear furnaces. The third millenium passed unmarked and uncelebrated by those in the safezones. The rich took to the oceans, and to the skies, leaving everyone else behind. Stranded in the isolated "safe zones", with no knowledge of the worlds above their heads. Igor Jonovich changed everything. Nanotechnology, long thought to be impossible, flourished under his genius. Even as the walls of their radioactive cage closed in, humanity pushed back, harnessing Jonovich's creations to explore the radioactive wastelands. To challenge the twisted creatures that lurked in the ashes of their former glory. Humanity thought they, at least, knew this scarred earth. It turns out even that was a lie. Yesterday Jared found a message hidden within Professor Jonovich's greatest work that changed everything.

Sixteen-year-old Sage Greene was locked in a maximum-security asylum for the criminally insane after murdering nearly 200 civilians. It isn't her, though - it's the voices. There are two sides to Sage: the normal, self-conscious teenager, and the Voice lurking inside her head, the one that forced her to strike out and kill. Now, both parts of Sage are being sent into space, destined for a new rehabilitation program upon Mars, with a group of the most dangerous teenagers in America. Before they can reach the red planet, however, they are abducted by a strange alien race and taken away from their spaceship and everything they have ever known to compete in a sadistic set of physical and mental tests nicknamed the Trials. And so far, nobody has survived the Trials. * {Highest ranking: #5 in science fiction as of 9/3/17} [Comment threads contain spoilers at random. You have been warned.] WARNING This is a very dark book that only spirals further down. Murder is discussed and there are slightly graphic scenes.

Ninja life in Konoha is confusing, ninja life is Kirigakure is worse. Being reborn is always a jarring process, being reborn in a genocidal, isolated, elitist regime is especially difficult. The Bloody Mist lives up to it's name and the social, political and economical pressure is building from the self imposed isolation which can only go so far before it boils over into all out war. Au to Dreaming of Sunshine, Self Insert, Original Characters Naruto Fanfic. Rated mature for violence and mature language, there is no explicit sexual scenes.

A soul with no name, nor a single memory when he had awakened from his previous state. A lab of nothing but ruins is what he had first come to see. The dimly lit light source that emitted from his pod was in sight, while an empty calling of the mechanics hummed as he looked around, wondering what he was doing there in the first place and who he was exactly. This vessel had been preserved for over 80 years while being modified unconsciously by unknown people, or an unknown person. Failure after failure, the lab that had once held plenty of vessels to contain various experiments had abandoned their project, hiding any form of evidence. Although, Project #49, the only remaining experiment was left untouched only because he was special. Not by power, but by bond. In due time will the creator find that leaving this vessel could be a disaster, or stand in neutral grounds. They could only hope that they didn't have to shut him down in the near future. =================== This is my first story, so any criticism is welcomed in order to help me improve my writing.
