Ariella has no clue how she got where she is, or even where she is. All she knows is that she was not put here by accident. You don't just wake up trapped in a small cave without your memory. Now, to help her escape, Ariella has to find out who she is through reliving her memories. All of them, the good, and the bad. I should probably mention that this story/book goes back and forth between two character's point of view's... Just in case there is any confusion...
