Living by her wits Jane's life is far from normal, she has her one steady fixture in her life, her beloved Dad (he has raised her as his own since her mother's passing), everything else is expendable until one of their cons goes bad; they meet an elderly lady (Bell) one evening at the train station and she makes them an offer too good to be true; as if fate had finally dealt them a good hand but their meeting is not coincidental. They are offered a home, Dad a job and the security they so desire in the quiet little seaside town of Whitstable, but not all is as it seems. Bell is shadowed by her loyal boys (the feral boys) the menacing youths riding around on their bikes with hoods up, lurking in the shadows. They are actually Deaths' Hounds of Hell that do Bells' bidding and are under strict instructions to watch over Jane. Jane is overwhelmed with premonitions, nightmares and flashbacks of her mothers' passing which are triggered by her arriving in Whitstable. She knows there is more than meets the eye when it comes to Bell. Bell is elusive about her life and her past, whilst still trying to bring Jane closer in. She is an enigma, charismatic yet harsh, her presence is felt by the community but feared by the church. Bell is a force to be reckoned with, she has the ability to bring grown men to their knees and pull out your darkest secrets, as if looking into your very soul. Why was she so desperate to bring Jane back to Whitstable ? Volume 1 of CANAISIS ∞ The Last Living Ship trilogy (Chronicles of Canaisis 1) Can a ship, born to sail the ocean of stars to ensure Humankind's survival, save her Captain from the void within his own heart? ∞ ∞ ∞ Canaisis is the last of her kind, a Living Ship forged with Mankind's most advanced technology and artificial intelligence. Together with her Captain, she sails the cold, dark void between stars at multiple times the speed of light-to ensure Humanity's survival. As Canaisis agrees to carry a corporation's entire personelle to their new colony planet, Captain Gareth Levant finds his solitude interrupted by a new culture and a woman whose Gift threatens to unlock the pain caged within his heart. A pain he's carried since before the day he first launched... centuries ago. As if that is not enough, something about Earth's Citizens sanctioning the corporation's relocation rings falsely with undertones that has Captain Levant on edge. He will do anything to keep his ship and passengers safe. Captain Levant loves his ship, as any good captain does since the beginning of time-whether with wind, sail and ocean waves as in the days of old, or in the vast depths of space. But if Canaisis were able to return that love, could it burn bright enough to light the way through the void within the Captain's own heart? Or does it require the Gift of human touch? ∞ ∞ ∞ By @kemorgan65 and @RavenRock2112 ∞ ∞ ∞ A prequel to the pre-story of #ShadowOfThePastTrilogy ∞ The Displaced. ∞ ∞ ∞ SEQUELS: Canaisis ∞ A Captain's Journey Canaisis ∞ A Shard Of Code ∞ ∞ ∞ REVIEW by @Ray_Of_Sunshine9 "...loved the overall themes within the story, and what it meant for me as a person - a mission of delivering hope and finding a new home. ... What happens when the planet you are from no longer sustains life because of the generations that lived before you. The blue marble that shines so brightly like a Gem in our solar system has gone, replaced with a dark and poisonous planet. Ten years ago the earth had a major Exodus, evacuating as many humans as possible. Luna was left behind to face the devastation, to try and survive in a bleak and obsolete world. Barely able to breathe the toxic air, life is no longer about living, but surviving. This book was written by J Butterworth and C Hufer.

At first she thinks nothing of it, until a rogue android appears on the news and people slowly begin to turn against her. When the Government initiates a recall on all androids, the impossible begins to happen, and Nora realizes that everything she thought she knew, was a lie.
